Marta Callava – Spanish by birth, Irish by adoption – graduated in 2005 from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid with a BA in Translation and Interpreting. She started her career in localization when she moved to Dublin in 2008 to work as a gaming translator. Over the years, she has held different roles –from Technical Writer to Localization Specialist to Terminologist. Since 2020, she works as a Localization Program Manager for Quality at the AWS Training Localization team. Marta has helped to shape the localization strategy for Amazon and other tech companies, and still translates occasionally in her spare time. In her Quality Innovations role, Marta is researching application of GenAI to localization. She currently lives between Dublin and Madrid and volunteers for Translators without Borders.
