Anurag Sharma is an accomplished L10n professional with a deep passion for the intersection of language and technology, boasting extensive experience in localization, creative writing, and communication. As a Senior Language Manager at Google since 2016, he has been pivotal in ensuring excellent Hindi and Hinglish language quality across over 140 Google products, including Search, YouTube, and Gemini.
His expertise includes integrating AI/GenAI with localization workflows and developing crucial linguistic reference materials. A key highlight is his leadership in bringing Gen AI’s magic to users of online search in Hindi with high quality.. He also notably shaped the launch of the first-ever major tech product in Hinglish (Google Pay), defining its objectives and writing its guidelines. For his pioneering work in standardizing the code-mix Hinglish, Anurag is jokingly referred to as the “father of modern Hinglish.”
Prior to Google, Anurag was a Producer/Presenter at BBC World Service, where he produced and hosted TV and radio programs, covering international stories and managing web content. He has keen interest in etymology and naming babies. His career demonstrates a unique blend of linguistic precision, technological adaptation, and strategic project management, making him a leading voice on global language quality and AI-driven content experiences.
