Navigating the Spanish Localization Model in LatAm

At Disney Product Globalization we define the localization strategy for our digital products in different markets and locales, including Latin America. While doing so, we are faced with the challenge of how to create an emotional connection with our subscribers in all countries within that region through language: when should we hyperlocalize and when should we resort to inclusive universal Spanish?

In this presentation we will discuss cases where we’ve decided to move forward with hyperlocalization and others when we have used an inclusive es-419 for all markets, as well as the reasoning behind those decisions.
