María was born in Spain and obtained a degree in Translation & Interpreting from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Starting her career as a freelance translator, she later switched to Marketing in the corporate sector in 2007, embarking on a journey through various tech companies, including Hewlett Packard, BlackBerry, and Google.
In 2014, armed with a user-focused perspective and product go-to-market insight, María returned to Localization, assuming the role of Language Manager for Spanish (Spain) at Google. During her ten-year tenure, she has owned the quality of es-ES over 150 products, ranging from hardware devices to Cloud or genAI, across all localization services, from machine translation to transcreation. Additionally, she has managed cross-language projects in areas like quality operations and processes, user research, vendor performance management or testing.
