There are 2 parts to this certification program: online and in-person training. The online training has 23 learning topics and 10 interviews with industry leaders within four major modules, quizzes, and a practice exam. You can begin that as soon as you register, and have until July 10 to complete it.

The online training is followed by a classroom workshop.  The workshop will be held on July 11-12 at BBW, Am Schillertheater 2 10625 Berlin. Please visit the website for information on location and directions.  The BBW is not a hotel, so you will need to make arrangements if you need one.

The workshop will include a review of the online material, small group exercises and presentations from localization professionals. The workshop concludes with the certification exam. It is essential that participants bring a laptop to the workshop.

Attendees will have 3-5 years of experience in localization on either the vendor or buyer side. Please contact us if you have questions about the prerequisites.

The methodology used in this certification course is based on the internationally recognized project management standard ISO 21500:2021- “Project, programme and portfolio management — Context and concepts”  with adaptations for the localization industry. In addition, there are modules on internationalization, localization and globalization concepts, global communication, managing virtual teams and effective communication with stakeholders, localization maturity, the Project Management Institute, machine translation including neural MT, the localization supply chain, localization in an Agile environment, community translation, managing interpretation and localization management.
