Round Tables

THE LOCALIZATION INSTITUTE Round Tables bring together practitioners from leading companies around the world to share perceptions on new developments and to exchange information. Extended sessions allow in-depth discussions, with a focus on the establishment of best practices.

Round Tables offer collaboration and networking at its best. No vendors, sponsors, or exhibits to distract from focusing on the business at hand: improving the art and science of the industry. Many consider the Round Tables, with a typical attendance of 25-35 professionals, the most productive event they attend each year.

The Localization Management Round Table is a first of its kind – with a focus on topics impacting the localization industry in South America.

For this Round Table – most attendees will be senior managers or owners of LSPs in South America. As a result, presentations and discussions deal with advanced topics. The format of the Localization Management Round Table relies on short presentations, some of them impromptu, followed by extensive discussions involving as many attendees as possible.

A survey was conducted with South American LSPs to develop the inaugural agenda and Willem Stoeller, a 24-year industry veteran, will serve as chairperson.

Objectives:

  • Promote a better understanding of localization management issues and priorities for Language Services Providers in South America
  • Create a channel of open communication for senior managers and owners of LPSs to discuss specific issues of localization management
  • Discuss the dynamics of the localization activities on vendor side
  • Peer-to-peer exchange of ideas
  • Sharing of experiences
  • Frank and free discussions of issues confronting the industry
  • Networking
  • Evaluation of recent developments

The Translation Technologies Round Table was conceived for hands-on users of Translation Technologies, decision-makers who are considering acquiring translation technology, or influencers who are advocating a change from one solution to another.

The first Translation Technologies Round Table was held on the pre-conference day of LocWorld32 in Montreal, Canada. As a result – we have added a  North American option on January 28-30th in Menlo Park, CA.

The target audience and format of the Round Table will change with each location and offering, so please review the details inside the individual event pages for detailed information.

The Global Branding Round Table is an interactive workshop where you will:

  • convene and network with like-minded peers from different industries
  • exchange experiences
  • compare benchmark efforts
  • explore the latest best practices
  • discuss strategies
  • learn from others who face the same challenges with suppliers, technologies and techniques.

In a personal and confidential setting, the Round Table format is a quick and sure-fire way to find out what’s worked and what hasn’t, an invaluable opportunity to take time out and come back to the office full of ideas. Fresh ideas come from looking at old problems from new perspectives.
