Description

Localization projects require the use of localization tools in order to simplify change management of source files and to reduce actual translation costs. In addition, localization tools can provide other features such as pseudo translation, validation of localized resources, and support for glossaries. One of the more commonly used tools for the localization of Microsoft Windows resources is CATALYST by Alchemy Software.

This four hour on-line seminar will give new and experienced project managers, account managers and localization engineers a solid understanding of how to use CATALYST for their MS Windows localization projects.

The seminar is divided into three modules: the first two module present new material, the last modul is a refresher where concepts previously taught are reviewed by means of a comprehensive example.

This seminar is designed for:

  • Localization Project Managers
  • Localization Engineers
  • Localization Account Managers

Overview

Module one

  • Prepare a CATALYST project for localization
  • Use pseudo translation as a validation
  • Import legacy translations created without CATALYST, and leverage from CATALYST translation memory

Module two

  • Translate in CATALYST using features such as auto validation, glossaries, translation aids
  • Manage updates of source files
  • Validate the localized resources upon completion of translation
