The Localization Project Management (LPM) Certification Program was updated in 2016 and is a combination of self-paced, online learning modules followed by a two-day project management training workshop and certification exam. Students are granted access 10 weeks prior to the workshop to view self-study videos ( 12 hours of recorded video) and can register and complete this portion in as little as 2 weeks prior to the workshop date.
All sessions are taught in English.
- Online self-study
- Interactive workshops offered
- Certification Exam
The On-line Self Study Component consists of recorded presentations and reading assignments. The self-study access period will be ten weeks preceding the workshop. As a R.E.P. (Registered Education Provider), The Localization Institute has been approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI) to issue professional development units (PDUs) for its training courses. You can use the hours spent on the Localization Project Management Certification Program as PDUs if you are a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®, or use the hours as credits if you applying to be a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)®
Thank you so much for everything! I really enjoyed this program and have taken away so many helpful things for my new job!
The 12 hours of recorded presentations are stored on a cloud based Learning Management system (Litmos) and can be streamed for easy viewing with a browser. Topics include: Global Readiness/Localization Maturity, The PMI and Localization, Technology Trends, Global Communication, Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Execution/Monitoring and Project Closure. The videos are interspersed with short tests to confirm your understanding of the material presented. Litmos also includes a feedback mechanism to ask questions and share answers.
The Classroom Component
The two days of classroom sessions will complete the Localization PM certification program. The first day starts off with a review of the material covered in the self study, followed by sessions in which you will discuss, document and present localization project management topics in small groups. The second day will include case study presentations by localization industry leaders, and concludes with a two-hour certification exam.
The 2 day workshop was a great experience and I learned a lot. Thanks to you, Willem, and Localization Institute!!!
